The Future of Granny's Hoard- What you would like

I've spent the last month or so really pondering the future of Granny's Hoard. I've had another podcast contact me and ask me to do another interview (yay!) and I'm just wondering if I am ready to take this blog to the next level.  Don't worry, I'm not planning on going away anytime soon, but I am looking at ways to make the time I spend writing blog posts a little more profitable. Because after all, time is money.

So, I'd like your feedback.

Would you watch a Granny's Hoard youtube channel?

Would you rather Granny's hoard be only a youtube channel- no blog?

Would you read a book about the topics that I talk about on the blog- like tips, things to sell, how to use selling online to be a stay at home mom?

Would you still visit the blog if I upgraded to something other than blogger and started doing affiliate links?

Would you be interested in following Granny's Hoard via Pintrest, Instagram, Facebook?

  1. Oh, please don't do YT only! I don't watch vids :( But I'd definitely still follow if you upgraded the blog.

  2. I would watch a youtube channel.

    I don't mind affiliate links.

I don't purchase books from other resellers. Seems like there is an over abundance of them but I'm sure others would do so.

I don't do Facebook or Instragram. I probably would follow your Pinterest board.

I'm enjoying hearing about your experiences on Amazon FBA as I've done a little bit but not much of it.

  3. -I would watch a youtube channel.
-I would be sad if you quit doing the blog because sometimes I don't have the patience to watch an entire video.
-I wouldn't buy a book because I am too cheap.
-I would keep visiting if you upgraded and would use your affiliate links if they were for things I use.
-I don't use social media regularly.

  4. I prefer a blog over youtube videos. A lot of times, I read blogs while I am eating my lunch at work and don't really want to watch a video. I would still visit if you included affiliate links. I enjoy reading the blog, so I would be happy if you could make some money for writing it.

  5. I would love to see the blog stay as a blog and then maybe a spin off book from the blog? I enjoy reading and now that so many have gone to YouTube, it seems like the blogs have diminished.

I don't do Facebook at all (much to the horror of many, LOL!) so I'm of no use to you there.

Too old fashioned of an answer on my part? Probably not what you wanted to hear. :)

  6. Yes! I think all of those avenues are great possibilities. Just choose the one(s) you are excited about. You can imbed your videos on your blog, and do affiliate links. Not too much more work for either of those. :)

  8. Hi Melissa, Affiliate links would be fine, and FB, too. I don't watch any youtube channels and I don't have time for books, but that's just me. I also don't do Pintrest or Instagram. Anyway, I love your blog and thanks for all you do!

  11. It's great that reselling lets us continually grow! I'd love to see a YouTube channel, there are some great YouTubers that I watch while listing, photographing, and shipping but I do acknowledge that the video formatting takes a ton of time with filming, editing, and what not. Would definitely encourage and support upgraded the blog to a platform that let's you monetize. It's an easy way to make a little extra money while still providing the same great content that you already do. Best of luck with whatever direction you decide to take Granny's Hoard :)

  12. Would you watch a Granny's Hoard youtube channel? Yes - if it's specific vs. general.

Would you rather Granny's hoard be only a youtube channel- no blog? I'm a creature of habit - I love to read blogs so please continue. But this is your baby so follow your passion.

Would you read a book about the topics that I talk about on the blog- like tips, things to sell, how to use selling online to be a stay at home mom? Honestly, I probably would not.

Would you still visit the blog if I upgraded to something other than blogger and started doing affiliate links? Sure - affiliate links do not bother me and I'm glad bloggers get the opportunity to make a few dollars.

Would you be interested in following Granny's Hoard via Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook? I limit Facebook to online eBay seller groups. I get lost on Pinterest for hours sometimes so I would follow you. I'm fighting Instagram as it's probably another addiction I don't need.

  13. I love blogs and YouTube channels about selling so yes to both. And yes upgrade the blog to help bring in income, a great way to make a little extra cash. I wouldn't buy a book about reselling because you can find so much content on the Internet for free. I love Pinterest and people are starting to use it as a way to get their items out there which I think is a great idea. I don't mind seeing items on Pinterest but hate seeing it on FB UNLESS it is a group specific for that purpose like a FB selling group or resellers info group.
