Let there be light!

First let me apologize for being absent for a while. The end of school came and went and my kiddos left me and my entire family with a lovely parting gift- The Flu.

I have not been that sick in my entire life!  Little one started it with a high fever and saying he didn't feel well for a few days. I started throwing up at about 8 pm, my hubby started at 10pm, we called my parents to see if they could take little one the next morning to discover my mom had been sick all night. So my dad came to get him but they called at about 3pm to say my dad thought he was going to pass out and we needed to come and get little one. My brother also ended up with it. The throwing up lasted two days, the fever lasted three. Let's hope the flu shot cover that next year!

The day after recovering from the flu, Wednesday, I went to the dentist, I think I've mentioned it before, but I am terrified of the dentist. I had not been for almost 15 years, but went this year. Hence the reason I had to have 4 cavaties and 1 crown done. Thanks to the zanax, it was actually my best visit ever to the dentist and I slept until Thursday evening.

Friday was a really cool big garage sale in a town about an hour away that my mom and I found last year. I totally didn't even think to take pictures while I was there, I think I was still a little loopy from the dentist. Please forgive me.

It's held at a large house that has several out buildings. Two older people run it and their family helps. There are about 12 buildings total and they are really organized, there's a kitchen building, a western building etc. The prices were a little higher than last year, but still pretty good. I ended up spending $155 and filling the back of my mom's expedition to the top. I am still sorting thru all of my goodies, but I will get some photos posted this week.

and Finally, my big announcement, hubby got my lights wired yesterday. Now that there is light I can welcome you to my new ebay room!!!!

It's not perfect, it's not totally finished and it's still smaller than I would have liked, but at least it's all mine. . . well except for this area (which mommy needs anyway to keep from going insane while trying to get work done)

The floor still needs another coat, and I still need trim and A/C, but I'm very happy to be moved in.

I have my tv from my old house. It's pretty big so I might be downsizing if I can find a good deal.
I am still hoping to fit in a comfy chair to sit while I list, and a table/desk area, we'll see how it all fits in. But I have light, a place to pack and take photos and a whole lot of work ahead of me. My goal is to beef up my listings from 350 to 800 by the time school starts again, which is about 7 a day. I'm hoping to list at least 10 items a day. Which means I need to get little one down for his nap and start snapping away.

Some great deals

Here's a few very quick pictures of the fun vintage items I found at the garage sale I mentioned here
I'll try to post some more photos this week.
I've been busy in the evenings sorting and photographing, since I don't have to work on lesson plans for next week (school is officially done (with kids anyway) on Wednesday) It's been a nice change.
Sales are picking up on ebay finally too. I've heard it's been a dry spell for lots of sellers. I just try to keep listing for the days when things are busy.

I'm looking forward to sleeping in until 7 am, instead of the school time 4:45, and wearing comfies all day!

What are you looking forward to for the summer?

My hubby rocks!

For Mother's Day my guys surprised me with an awesome weekend trip. What a great way to spend the last weekend before school is out and Mother's Day. It's the best mother's day I've had. We had an awesome time visiting some cliff dwellings, a cave, and 2 dinosaur exhibits.

little one really got into digging dinosaur bones with paint brushes at the exhibit. I will be looking for a reasonable way to make one for him this summer.

While we were there, hubby also let me check out the local goodwill. I scored some cake pans, clothes and a mug that I've sold before for almost $25!

We also discovered a garage sale at the Embassy suites where we were staying. Great deals on some thomas train toys and books, some plates and platters, a glass candy jar, and more for just $10!

I am still waiting for a good place to take pictures. My room still isn't done which means I don't have nice clean white background to take photos with, I will hopefully be posting more photos soon after next weekend.  My room is supposed to get the final layer of texturing and primer and paint.

It's getting closer

It's getting closer for a lot of things.

my ebay room:

lots of progress made there this weekend. One more coat of drywall compound and then we can paint.  I found out today that we won't be working on it next weekend, because hubby and little one are taking me away for Mother's day weekend. They won't tell me where they are taking me. I'm very excited for a weekend away!

After Mother's Day we only have 3 days of school left with kiddos and then another 4 for inservice, and then probably another 2-3 of packing up my room, and then blessed summer vacation!

I cannot wait to be able to get my stuff moved into my room and the rest of it organized and then listed like crazy.

Amazon has been my bread and butter this past month,it's quick to list and doesn't require a place to take photos, which is good, as I don't have a good place set up for that right now.

I hit up a really good garage sale this weekend on my way in to start packing up my room. I'm not sure if other districts require this, but our district makes up pack up everything, and I do mean everything in our classroom every single year. That means bookshelves, cupboards, walls, everything put away so they can move everything out and clean the carpet. Have you seen my shop or read the name of my blog? Can you imagine how much stuff (although slightly better organized) my classroom for 5 year olds has?

The garage sale was a house I'd been to before. It was actually the first garage sale little one ever went to. We stopped by on the first day I could drive after my c-section. They had a lot of good stuff and I was excited to see them having another one.

The prices were more this time, but I think I discovered the reason after I got back to the car. Little one cheerfullly told me that he told the lady that these were for Mommy to sell. I felt bad telling him that we weren't supposed to tell people that. He was so proud to be helping Mommy and he knew why we were there. He's going to be an expert by the time he's 5!

I will try to get some photos of my find from this sale posted this week. I found some stoneware crocks, owl candle holders, plates, 2 vintage game tables, a vintage doily stretcher and a lot more. I'm excited to see what they're going to sell for. The items I purchased there before sold very well.

Is it cursed?

I can't figure this shirt out. I purchased it at one of newly discovered little thrift stores for I think about .25.  I remember reading somewhere that men's shirts, especially comic book type, sell really well.
What they forgot to mention is that while they might sell well, they don't get paid for!

I've sold this shirt 2 different times, but it has always turned into an unpaid case and eventually been automatically relisted.

So tell me, is this shirt cursed?  Hopefully the 3rd time will be the charm.

I'm back......

Whoa Friends, has it been a long time! Hard to believe my last post was over 3 years ago- but here I am. A few things have changed- I am now...
